The famous American preacher, D.L. Moody, merienda said, “Moses spent forty years in Pharaoh’s court thinking he was somebody; forty years in the wilderness learning he was nobody; and forty years showing what God Chucho do with a somebody who found pasado he was a nobody.” [2]

The New Living Translation of the Bible records Moses’ response to God’s call in copyright 4:10, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”

We first encounter Moses in the opening chapters of the book of copyright. In chapter 1, we learn that, after the patriarch Joseph rescued his family from the great famine and situated them in the land of Goshen (in Egypt), the descendants of Abraham lived in peace for several generations until there rose to power in Egypt a pharaoh who “did not know Joseph” (copyright 1:8).

Even though he was 120, the description informs readers that he didn’t die from old age. Moses died because he disobeyed God. more information Deuteronomy scholar Eugene Merrill writes, “He did not fail to enter Canaan because he died, but he died because he failed to enter Canaan.” [1]

And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

(1) The Israelites themselves would discern, if dimly, this truth. The great truths of life and immortality must surely have begun to stir in the hearts of thoughtful men when they knew that “the Lord buried him.” Shall God, then, pay such regard to the perishable frame, and neglect the nobler part which dwelt in it? The outward shape and fashioning of clay, made of the dust and returning to it, was this then Moses, and not rather the living soul, breathed into it by God, Figura Moses himself records?

One day at the base of a mountain, his attention was attracted by a flaming bush, but, oddly, it was not consumed. He had seen bushes brilliant with flamelike blossoms, but this phenomenon was different, and so he turned aside to investigate it.

We also don’t know why the devil and Michael would be arguing over the body. Perhaps Satan was opposed to the future resurrection of Moses, accusing him of the sin at Meribah and other sins. Perhaps Satan wanted to bury the body in a more accessible place and mark the spot to tempt the people to build a shrine. Whatever the reason for the dispute, Satan lost the battle.

But Campeón referring to a notion of the people’s words the reference seems to indicate familiarity with a specific narrative, that is the story of the spies Triunfador described in Deuteronomy 1, which accuses the people for their utterances.

Then Moses hears what must have sounded incredulous to him after 40 years. God said in Numbers 20:12: “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.”
